I’m trying to get some of the back load of event images updated in the gallery. Sorry if these are really late, but it couldn’t be helped. Considering the sheer amount of them it’s taken me some time to get them sorted, renamed and uploaded. I have his 2015 event images I’m currently sorting. I hope to have those up either later today, or sometime this week depending on my schedule. I have a lot of appointments later this week and earlier next week and so depending on what I’m doing will depend on when I get them all up.

Richard Tweets About Filming “Medici” In Italy
richard madden online    September 27, 2015    0 comments

I usually don’t like posting anything from the DailyMail website due to their largely gossipy nature, but since this had more to do with the series Richard is currently working on and it did not involve any kind of bad press, I thought I’d post it here. The article talks about Richard’s work thus far on MEDICI: MASTERS OF FLORENCE where Richard is playing the part of Cosimo deMedici.

Dustin Hoffman, 78, films dramatic death scene in period costume for gripping new TV drama Medici: Masters Of Florence in Italy

Dustin Hoffman kicked off filming for his latest project, a historical drama based on the Medici family’s rise to power in Florence, in Italy on Saturday.

The 78-year-old star has signed up to play the patriarch of the famous Italian family in an eight-part TV series, Medici: Masters Of Florence, alongside Game of Thrones’ Richard Madden.

Playing the founder of the trade and banking dynasty, Giovanni, the Oscar-winning actor was seen in full historical costume filming his character’s death.

Reclining on a wooden bench and table in a garden, Dustin can be seen praying meditatively with a rosary whilst munching on a bowl of grapes.

Clad in a lilac and purple belted smock, with a white shirt underneath, black trouser and brown leather boots, the Little Fockers star certainly looked the part of a rich Florentine merchant.

With his grey hair slightly tousled and worn short yet shaggy, Dustin appeared younger than his years as he shot his first scenes as the astute renaissance banking lord.

Obviously filming the scenes of Giovanni’s – full name Giovanni di Bicci de’ Medici – final moments, the actor was seen launching the food and bowl into the air as he collapsed to the floor.

Sending his faithful co-star scurrying off camera, Dustin was seen lurching and falling to the ground as he filmed the the Medici founder’s final throws of life.

Dustin and Game Of Thrones star Richard Madden – famous for playing Rob Stark – are set to bring alive the story of Giovanni and his son Cosimo’s rise to the very centre of Renaissance power and politics as the heads of the influential Medici banking empire.

Richard, who starred in this year’s live action adaptation of Disney’s Cinderella opposite Lily James, is set to play Giovanni’s cunning and astute son Cosimo de’Medici.

And it seems that the rising British star, 29, is relishing his latest role, as he tweeted a series of excited messages from Italy earlier over the last month.

Last week he tweeted: ‘Horse riding and stunt fighting in a field outside Rome. #happytuesday [sic].’

Followed by another happy message earlier this week, in which he wrote: ‘Very exciting times. Feeling very fortunate indeed.’

The Medici family rose to become famous and revered throughout the Western world in the 14th and 15th Century.

According to Variety.com, the drama is directed by Under the Dome’s Sergio Mimica-Gezzan, and is being produced by Matilde and Luca Bernabei’s Lux Vide, and Frank Spotnitz’s Big Light Productions.

The website reports that Spotnitz shed light on what will be covered in each of the series’ eight hour-long instalments, saying: ‘The Medici came to power at a time of great social and economic inequality.

‘They were great disrupters. Their banking practices led to the creation of a middle class, making them unimaginably wealthy.’

The Medici in turn used their vast power and resources to challenge traditional thinking, ushering in a new era of revolutionary art and science such as the world had never seen. It’s a powerful story that resonates even now.’

Richard To Star in MIni-Series on The DiMedici Family
richard madden online    September 24, 2015    0 comments

Just announced today: Richard is set to star in an eight part mini-series based on the DiMedici dynasty. Richard will be starring along side Oscar winner Dustin Hoffman who will play the family matriarch Giovanni, while Richard will play his son, Cosimo. I can’t wait for this. I’m hoping this might be like the Showtime series The Borgias starring Jeremy Irons.

Dustin Hoffman, Richard Madden to star in Medici family TV drama?

Published Thursday, September 24, 2015 4:27PM EDT

Dustin Hoffman and “Game of Thrones” actor Richard Madden are to take starring roles in an eight-part TV drama about Italy’s famous Renaissance family the Medicis.

The political dynasty will be the focus of “Medici: Masters of Florence,” which will follow the family’s rise from merchants to power brokers and their role in starting an economic and cultural revolution, while making enemies along the way, according to Variety.

Hoffman is to take the role of the family patriarch, Giovanni de’ Medici, while Madden — known for playing Robb Stark in HBO’s “Game of Thrones” — will play the son Cosimo de’ Medici.

International sales of the series will launch at MIPCOM in Cannes next month.

Crushing on Richard Madden’s … Hair?
richard madden online    September 12, 2015    0 comments

Yep, can totally see it. I think that’s what made me fall in love with Richard during the early episodes of GAME OF THRONES‘ first season. That one lock of grey that runs through Richard’s fine curls. His talent, though exceptional, followed after that. Not to forget those beautiful baby blue eyes. Yesh, I’m crushing and so is someone else. This is a review of Richard’s hair from LADY CHATTERLEY’S LOVER from someone pointing out the obvious.

Crush of the week: Richard Madden’s hair

Remember the little girl, who had a little curl? That old nursery rhyme came back to me last week while watching the BBC’s new adaptation of Lady Chatterley’s Lover. It was a bit underwhelming, but there can be only praise for one core member of the cast: Richard Madden. Or, more specifically, his hair: where everything else was muted and restrained, this was The Curl That Stood Out. I was transfixed.

There’s no two ways about it: this crush is founded in narcissism. As the proud owner of a headful of curls and coils, I get a thrill every time I see a curl on screen. For too long, we’ve been told to “tame” our curls, as if they were unruly and in need of discipline. Madden, 29, does no such thing.

I first saw him in Channel 4’s 2011 comedy drama Sirens, and they were in full effect even then, adding a boyish charm. And those curls were just what was needed to play gamekeeper Mellors. Indeed, that hair did about 40% of the heavy lifting, serving as a metaphor for his earthiness, his pure humanity, the simple but complex code by which he lives. If you think that’s too much to read into a fringe, you’ve clearly not seen Madden’s barnet. Pay attention.

Of course, the hair doesn’t work in isolation. It’s a foil for his eyes – limpid, blue pools in which you are likely to drown – and a charming Scottish accent (Madden was raised in Renfrewshire). He used this deadly combination to great effect in Game Of Thrones, playing the would-be King in the North with vulnerability and steely resolve.

But make no mistake: the hair is the star attraction. To paraphrase the poem, when it is good, it is very good indeed.

“Lady Chatterley’s Lover” Screencaps

Here they are, sooner than I anticipated. What else is there to say about Richard in this other than he was luminous and brooding. His scenes with Holliday Grainger were so real and honest, I was struck by how great he truly is. Thank the gods at the BBC for believing he could do this. What I liked about the production other than the high values was how beautifully it was shot. LADY CHATTERLEY’S LOVER was not only good, but one more reason British television is far and above anything in North America.
