Richard is currently filming BASTILLE DAY as an American pickpocket named Michael Mason. The film also stars Idris Elba and Charlotte Le Bron. More below.

Key Cast & Synopsis Revealed For ‘Bastille Day’ – Starring Idris Elba, Charlotte Le Bon, Richard Madden…

With filming now underway in Paris, the key cast and official synopsis has been revealed for ‘Bastille Day,’ an action thriller led by Idris Elba. From a script by Andrew Baldwin and John Hoodge, ‘Bastille Day’ also stars Richard Madden (Robb Stark in ‘Game of Thrones’), Charlotte Le Bon, Kelly Reilly and Jose Garcia. The film has been written by Andrew Baldwin, who’s currently writing the next film in the “Bourne” franchise for Universal Pictures, and John Hodge (Trainspotting, The Beach). James Watkins (The Woman in Black) directs.

On the eve of Bastille Day, a young French woman, Zoe Naville (Charlotte Le Bon), slips across Paris with the intent of planting a bomb to make a radical political statement but means to kill no one. At the last moment, she decides that she cannot commit this violent act. Michael Mason (Richard Madden), an American pickpocket, steals Zoe’s bag, keeps what he can use and throws the rest away into a garbage bin next to a busy Metro stop. At the same time, inside the ultra-secure CIA Station in Paris, Sean Briar (Idris Elba), an agent brought in from the battlefields of Syria and Iraq in the wake of a mission that has gone terribly wrong, struggles to adjust to his reassignment as a desk-bound data-analyst: a misfit real warrior in a world of cyber counter-terrorists.

When the bomb goes off, Michael becomes the only suspect. Briar is determined to find him and bring him into custody before the French authorities do. From then on, Briar, Michael, and Zoe will be bound together in a 24-hour suspense ride across the city, in a frantic attempt to expose a conspiracy of chaos and greed that only they can prove.

Look out for ‘Bastille Day’ in 2015. The film is shooting now in Paris, and will continue principal photography through December, when it will move to London for completion.

On behalf of KING OF THE NORTH I’d like to wish Richard the best of days. He turns a very ripe young twenty eight today and I hope he has the greatest birthday ever, celebrating with his family, Jenna and friends. We love you Richard and please have a good bottle of wine and a really huge cake. You deserve it.

During the TCA Winter tour press junket for KLONDIKE, Zap2it had the chance to interview Richard for the upcoming mini-series. They had just attended the announcement of the season four premiere of GAME OF THRONES where they had cute little stuffed Direwolves for sale. Zap2it knew they were going to be interviewing Richard and brought he and Grey Wind back together. Here was the result.

On behalf of the premiere of KLONDIKE, Richard took part in the regular TCA Winter Tour for the show.

Finally a trailer for Richard’s Discovery Channel mini-series KLONDIKE as Bill Haskell. He’s looking mighty fine if you ask me. I can hardly wait for this show so we can see Richard again. In the meantime, enjoy.

Apparently Richard was a no-show at the Emmy’s last night due to his beginning work on his new film CINDERELLA. There is a still that’s been released but not of Richard. When there is one I’ll have it here, in the meantime here’s the article on it.

‘Game of Thrones’ Richard Madden not at Emmys: Blame ‘Cinderella’ – First look

Richard Madden was one “Game of Thrones” star noticeably lacking from the 2013 Primetime Emmy Awards. The actor, whose character Robb Stark tragically met his end in Season 3, didn’t fly out to Los Angeles for his last possible Emmy appearance with the series he helped define, and the reason was revealed the morning after the awards show.

Disney’s “Cinderella,” which stars Madden as Prince Charming, began its principal photography in London on Sept. 23 at Pinewood Studios. That offers up an explanation for why Madden was unable to make the flight to California for the Emmys to join former cast members Peter Dinklage, Emilia Clarke, Lena Headey, Kit Harington and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau.

Also absent was Michelle Fairley, whose character also died in Season 3. The episode where their deaths occurred, “The Rains of Castamere,” was up for an Emmy for Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series, but lost to the “Homeland” episode “Q&A.”

Directed by Kenneth Branagh, “Cinderella” also stars Cate Blanchett, Helena Bonham Carter, Lily James and Stellan Skarsgard. It will hit theaters on March 13, 2015. Check out a first look at James as Cinderella below.
